About College

Govt P G College, Narayan Nagar (Sant Narayan Swami Govt. P.G. College, Narayan Nagar) is located in Didihat taluka in Pithoragarh district in the state of Uttarakhand. The efforts of saint Narayan Swamy, led to the foundation of this college in the year 1983 for the benefit of the students of rural, remote, and hilly area in and around this location. The college is providing the usual UG and PG courses along with some vocational courses, computer training, Yoga learning, and some courses under IGNOU and Uttarakhand Open University. It is a NAAC credited ‘B’ grade college. The college is affiliated to Kumaun University.

The college has a library where books are available for the students for reference as well as for issue for a few weeks to help them in preparing their notes and study points.

There is one unit of National Service Scheme (NSS) functional in the college and interested candidates are encouraged to join it. This is basically to inculcate the feeling of responsibility towards the society and learn as how the students can help the fellow beings in the nearby locales.

The college has a playground and all the games and sports are available for the practice and benefit of the students. Tournaments and games are held time to time in addition to the annual sports. Students performing good in sports are sent for outside tournaments.

College is also having a First Aid Medical  Cell which caters to the medical check up of the students as well as of the persons living in the nearby villages and localities.

Under the aegis of Red Ribbon Club, AIDS and HIV awareness camps are organised regularly. In addition to that, blood donation camps are also organised in the college where students help the medical personnels. Awareness programs for blood donations are also held time to time.

There is one Career and counselling Cell in the College which guides and helps the students for selecting their career line and other avenues for making a career.
